Turquoise Glass Bead Aggregate - 50 lb

Glass Beads are created following old-world artisan traditions using exotic minerals such as cobalt, gold, nickel, and chromium. Exquisite colors are injected into molten glass in an exacting manufacturing process to create an entirely unique accent. Glass Beads bring rich colors, vibrancy, and shimmer to acrylic, exposed, and troweled concrete and plaster finishes.

Colored glass beads are generally mixed integrally with pool plaster at a rate of 40 percent by volume. While this is a standard application rate, the Concrete Decor Store recommends that contractors perform mock-up panels with varying mixtures to achieve the most desired appearance and finish. 

Given the size of the glass beads (2-4 mm), the plaster application should be 4-6 mm deep. Methods for exposing the glass aggregate include using surface retarders or acid washing. Alkali silica reaction (ASR) is a common chemical reaction that may occur over time. The Concrete Decor Store offers a number of penetrating concrete sealers that permanently stop the chemical reaction from occurring.
